Overview of The Nigerian Champions Program

The Nigerian Champion Special Programme identifies, recognises and engages Nigerians who demonstrate outstanding performance in their professions, businesses, public responsibilities and communities.

A Nigerian Champion, within the context of the programme, is an individual who produces measurable results, solves societal problems, creates opportunities and contributes positively to national development. Nigerian Champions operate in medicine, engineering, education, agriculture, technology, law, business, governance, sports, arts, security, media, community development and other areas of national importance.

Unlike a Nigerian Icon, whose achievement represents an exceptional historical or national milestone, a Nigerian Champion may be an emerging or established achiever who continues to demonstrate excellence, leadership, innovation and social responsibility.

Why the Program is Essential for Nigeria’s Future

  • Bridging Theory and Practice: Connects academic research with industrial application.
